Getting Involved with Mozmill Automated Test Development

Anthony Hughes

Good day fellow community members. I’m writing you today in the hopes that we can ramp up the number of automated tests we have running against new features and regression bugs in Mozmill.

If you are a Feature QA lead then you will have likely written some manual tests in MozTrap. Many of those are likely good candidates for Mozmill tests, and once developed no longer need to be run manually. I’d ask that you compile a list of the tests which you’d like to have automated in this etherpad. Please email me once you’ve done this so I can engage with you to take the next steps.

If you are aware of a regression bug in Bugzilla which you feel can and should have an automated test, please flag it for automation using the in-qa-testsuite? flag and set Henrik Skupin (:whimboo) as the requestee. If you don’t have the appropriate Bugzilla permissions, please ask in the bug for someone to set the flag.

Additionally, if you’d like to pitch in, learn some Mozmill development, and help write the automated tests you’re requesting it would dramatically help the Automation Development team and the Firefox project as a whole.
