The Telemetry feature can now be enabled in Firefox nightly builds. The goal of telemetry is develop an infrastructure to measure Firefox performance in the wild. This work is targeted for Firefox 6. Please read Taras’ blog post for more detailed information about the goal of telemetry.
Here are instructions to enable telemetry in nightly builds:
- Download a Firefox nightly build
- Go to about:config and set toolkit.telemetry.enabled to true. Restart the browser.
- Install his extension and then navigate to about:telemetry to see the metrics collected
Thanks for testing and we look forward to any crash reports or bugs you see while testing the nightly builds.
