Upcoming Firefox 7 Testday

August 26, 2011 @ 1:00 am - 5:00 pm

Good Day Mozilla QA Community,

I’m here to announce that this Friday, August 26, we will be hosting a Firefox 7 testday. Details about the specific activities are still being planned but there will be a lot of work to do and a lot of opportunity to learn on this day. You can check out our test plan as specifics will be described there.

So far we have the following activities planned:

  • Exploratory testing of Firefox 7 Beta
  • Verifying fixes for Firefox 7 FIXED bugs
  • Testing UNCONFIRMED Graphics bugs for potential regressions

We need your help with these activities so we can ensure Firefox 7 is the best it can be. Website Compatibility and Graphics are extremely important to Firefox due to the rich nature of the web today and the various hardware/software configurations where it is expected to perform. Verifying fixes helps make sure that what has been fixed is really fixed and helps us identify those edgecase scenarios where the bug may not be fixed. Confirming unconfirmed bugs gives our developers the information they need to fix issues as swiftly as possible.

If you have the time and want to help or want to learn, please stop by on Friday between 1am and 5pm Pacific Time (GMT -8:00). As always, you will find us on irc.mozilla.org in the #testday channel.
