Firefox MemShrink Testday

September 23, 2011 @ 1:00 am - 5:00 pm

Greetings Mozilla QA Community.

Friday, September 23rd, we will be hosting a testday to address memory leaks in Firefox. The testday is in support of the MemShrink project. Most of this testday will center around about:memory, a built-in tool for cataloging memory usage in Firefox. Justin Lebar, one of the MemShrink developers, will be providing a video demonstration of about:memory and its uses.

I should emphasize that no coding experience is required. We will simply be testing different sites for memory leaks and comparing memory usage between Firefox and Chrome.

If you have some time and want to help us close memory leaks in Firefox please join us on irc.mozilla.org in the #testday channel. We will be testing from 1am to 5pm PDT this Friday.

If you want to get a head start, feel free to download the latest nightly and check out our test plan. More details will be provided as Friday approaches.

I hope to see you there.
