Automation Training Day (May 21st)

May 21, 2014

Hi Mozillians!

We are happy to announce our next Automation Training Day next Wednesday on May 21st in the #automation channel.

What is this about? Well, we are a bunch of enthusiastic people working in automation, all kinds of tools and various projects and we’d like to introduce you to this part of Mozilla. It’s an opportunity to learn new things and experience automation on different projects.

Our plan for this quarter is to have four such training days, each Wednesday until June 11th (forth one).

  1. May 21st, 2014
  2. May 28th, 2014
  3. June 4th, 2014
  4. June 11th, 2014

At each training day we’ll go through the basic stuff, so don’t worry if you’ve missed the previous ones. And if you are already familiar with this, we’ll guide you day by day through your chosen tasks. Imagine the satisfaction you’ll feel seing your one and done tasks completed or your first automation patch landed!

We have worked on composing a list of tasks for all sorts of levels and timeframes. From a basic task completed in 5 minutes to lots of code lines and days maybe to finish up. But remember, we’ll be around every day in the #automation channel, not only during the training days.
So whenever you have the time to work on your task and feel stuck, you can reach to us to help you through.

Most of them will be added to the One and Done tool, which is a workflow where Mozilla community contributors can pick tasks and work on them – one at a time, one day at a time – and feel good about doing them.

You can also check our etherpad for latest updates as there we’re managing and collecting all data from the event:
