This Friday, on December 3rd, the Mozilla QA team wants to hold a test day for the new add-ons manager in Firefox 4.0. With the latest changes, including the check-in of the final style last week, we were able to resolve a couple of our blocking bugs as fixed. Also given that the last test day for this component happened some months ago, it’s time again to have a closer look at this particular new major feature.
During the day we want to use the latest nightly build of Firefox 4.0 and focus on the following areas:
Exploratory testing the back-end and front-end by executing the proposed actions from the add-ons manager test coverage spreadsheet. Beside that we have a list of assembled Litmus tests, which are currently tracked in a separate in-litmus spreadsheet, and can be used for guided testing.
Creation of new Mozmill tests or local test data to run tests fully automated inside your Firefox instance.
For all the topics mentioned above, we have a section in our Etherpad. Whenever questions arise or you have something to document, feel free to contact the responsible leading person, or add your ideas directly to the Etherpad itself.
We are looking forward to your participation through the whole day. As usual we will use the #testday channel of moznet.
