SUMMARY:Working for Mozilla in London
DESCRIPTION:Getting together with the colleagues you’ve been working together during the last years is always a great chance to strengthen the team collaboration\, do some focused work and leverage the future plans\, all in a context that is open and productive in the same time. Mozilla work weeks are for sure the events that bring all of these together and even more than that. \nI can definitely vouch for that after having the chance to participate at the March London Firefox for Android work week as a member of the SoftVision Mozilla team. Adrian Tamas and myself were invited to participate there to talk about our team plans for the this year\, all these in the very welcoming Mozilla London office which I believe expresses some of the Mozilla culture. \nAdrian is one of the guys in the Firefox for Android who’s been spending quite some time on the mobile automation side (using Robocop) and the results are pretty encouraging\, so getting to talk specifically about this with the entire team was really important in order to get on the same page on the results so far\, our challenges\, the future plans and also some of the limitations we are facing. All very good discussions which obviously started already to show results. \nMore than this we’ve seen some great work being done on the product planning side through open discussions between the product management team\, the developers\, the QA engineers and some of the contributors\, all sharing the same overall vision – to get better and better in providing a seamless web browsing experience on mobile devices and…more than that everything to be open and accessible to everyone. While this is a quite fulfilling feeling for each IT engineer just to be part of setting the trends in the web browsing technologies it is also the Mozilla culture that makes a tremendous difference and motivates people to go beyond their known or unknown boundaries. \n \nI need to say that this was a great experience for us\, intense\, efficient and productive\, within a friendly and relaxed atmosphere – which I believe Mozilla is all about. For sure looking forward to be part of similar events in the future.

SUMMARY:Firefox mobile test day March 30th
DESCRIPTION:The Firefox mobile team will be hosting a test day on Friday March 30th. We would like you to join us to test the latest nightly build of Firefox for Android. This version features a Java interface that greatly decreases startup time. The native Java interface results in a browser that performs better on mid-range Android phones. We need help testing it with your Android phone/tablet and browsing habits. As part of the test day we need assistance verifying fixed bugs\, testing the bookmark\, tabs\, form data and password sync. As usual we can be found in the testday IRC channel (click the link\, choose a name and ask about helping. \nCoordination and details of the test day can be viewed at https://etherpad.mozilla.org/testday-20120330-mobile

SUMMARY:Mozilla Persona (formerly known as BrowserID) Testday - March 9\, 2012
DESCRIPTION:Hey Mozilla Testers! \nMozilla Persona (formerly known as BrowserID) is taking off and we’re looking for interested folks to help with testing the latest features that have landed!   For those that aren’t familiar with this project\, Mozilla Persona is a simple way to safely and securely sign into your online web identity\, without having to create separate usernames and passwords each time. Instead of a new username\, it uses your email address as your identity which allows it to be decentralized since anyone can send you an email verification message. \nSee this post for a better description (includes Video screencast) \nOur last testday was back in October\, so we’re due for another one with many changes.  This friday\, we will be focusing our test efforts on Primary host support\, new UI features\, and Localization support.   Anyone with a desktop running Windows\, Mac\, or Linux\, and have a mobile device on iOS or Android\, we want you! \nMozilla Persona is developed and hosted on its own Github location\, so Issues are all tracked in that location.  We will be referring all instructions on the Testday document\, which references the Official Testplan. \nLook forward to seeing everyone this friday! \nServices QA Team

SUMMARY:Firefox mobile native UI test day
DESCRIPTION:Mozilla is holding a Firefox mobile test day on Friday November 11th. This is the first public showing of a new direction for the Firefox mobile team. We have recreated Firefox mobile using native Android elements. This results in an application that: \n\nstarts up much faster than previous releases\nhas better integration between Firefox and the Android OS\nuses a new interface that takes visual cues from the tablet work\n\nThis project is in the early stages of development\, there are still some rough edges. Though we believe that the core features are ready for more widespread testing. We need help testing on a wide variate of devices. To help we need you to install Firefox mobile on your device and stop by our Test day this Friday. For detailed information about how to get started testing please read our test plan. \nIf the Etherpad says that there are over 16 people using it you can find a copy of the test plan on the Mozilla Wiki.

SUMMARY:Firefox Sync Testday\, Friday\, January14th
DESCRIPTION:Greetings\, Mozilla QA Community! \nMozilla Browser Technologies QA is going to hold a test day for Sync on Friday\, January 14th.  The focus for this test day will be on Sync in Fx4 beta 9 and current Mozilla mobile devices.  This type of testing is where you the Mozilla community really shine.  The diversity of profiles and usage patterns that each of you bring to our testing community makes this a perfect place for you to help iron out the last wrinkles in Sync as we approach the release of Firefox 4. \nDuring the test day we ask you to explore the feature\,  run through functional tests and/or verify or attempt to reproduce known bugs. \nUse ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/nightly/4.0b9-candidates/build1/ for testing and/or Fx4b9 when it becomes available. \nI’ve posted http://quality.mozilla.org/browser-technologies/weave/helpful-tips-for-qa-of-sync/ to help testers be more productive.  You’ll want to read that if you’re new to Sync testing. \nPlease join us on IRC in the #testday channel. \nHope to see you there\, \nTracy \nMozilla Browser Technologies QA
