Introducing the Mozilla QA Companion!

After many months of stop and go development, the Mozilla QA Companion (QAC) is ready!  It's the easiest way to stay connected with the Mozilla QA community and provides quick access to Litmus testcases, simple Bugzilla queries and one click IRC connectivity!  So whether you're a veteran nightly tester or just getting started with the Mozilla project, go download the QAC and give it a try!

Help us make it better!

We have a list of current QAC bugs already, but if you find a new one, please report it in Bugzilla under the "Other Applications" product and "QA Companion" component.  We will continue to improve the QAC and will be working on new features like our notification system and improved Bugzilla access, so let us know what you think so far and share your ideas with us!

A bit of History...

Zach Lipton started the project about a year ago after the Mozilla QA team and community discussed ways to get more people involved.  We wanted to make it easier for people to run testcases on Litmus and decided a Firefox add-on was the way to go!

So what started off as the "Litmus Extension" eventually grew into the "QA Community Extension (QAX)" when we added tabs for Bugzilla and IRC.   Better integration with quality.mozilla.org (QMO, the home of Mozilla QA) and an improved UI led us to rename it one more time and now it's officially known as the Mozilla QA Companion (QAC)!

Thank you!

The following people deserve most of the credit for the QA Companion...

  • Zach Lipton for taking the initiative and doing all the hard work early on to get the QAC project off the ground during Summer 2007.
  • Ben Hsieh for spending some of his summer internship at Mozilla helping Zach develop the QAC.
  • Clint Talbert for helping with the maintenance and bug fixes during the final few months before release.

Thanks to everyone else that provided input and helped test the QAC during it's early alpha stages.  It's looking pretty solid now, so we hope everyone enjoys using it!
