Hi QA-Team,
Please join the Mozilla QA Community for a testday on Friday, November 9., 2007!
The success and quality of Firefox is dependent on community members like you, so we
appreciate your help with testing!
We will be testing the Release Candidate of Firefox 3 Beta 1!
The event will run Friday, November 9., 2007, from 7am - 5pm PST.
How to prepare for the test day:
- Download Firefox 3 Beta 1 Release Candidate 3 from ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/3.0b1-candidates/rc3/ (Windows Builds are currently in the /unsigned Directory). You can either use the English version (with "en-US" in the name) or a localized version (with another country code in the name).
- You should either back up your profile or use the profile manager to create a new profile for testing.
- IMPORTANT NOTE: Using the same profile with both Firefox 3 Beta 1rc1 and a previous version of Firefox is not recommended. Firefox 3 Beta 1rc1 will only migrate your bookmarks from Firefox 2 the first time it runs; after that, anytime Firefox 3 Beta 1rc1 runs it will overwrite any changes to bookmarks that were made in Firefox 2. Firefox 3 Beta 1rc3 is the recommended version. Please use it. If you already have rc1, uninstall it and install rc3.
How you can help with this test day:
First join us in #testday on irc.mozilla.org. The choose one or more of
the following things to do:
- Run Basic Functional Tests (bft) / Full Functional Tests (fft) in
Litmus or any test of your choice. Ask for help in the testday channel if you're not familiar with Litmus. If a testcase is terribly unclear, mark it as such. When you have questions about using Litmus, please ask the moderators in the testday channel or see the Litmus tutorial .
- Ad-hoc testing of features and bug filing: Check out the new Firefox Features likes Places (Bookmarks/History), the new Download Manager, the improved Security and Privacy Features and many more. If you see an issue, raise it in
#testday so people there can confirm it. Then search for the bug in Bugzilla . If it's not on file, log the bug and again mention it in #testday so that it can be confirmed.
- Areas of focus: See our testplans for Firefox 3 for Changes and Bugs to verify.
