Hi QA-Team,

Please join the Mozilla QA Community for a testday on Friday, October 12th, 2007!

We will test the Accessibility Features in Firefox Nightly Builds in preparation of Firefox 3.

The event will run Friday, October 12th, 2007, from 7am - 5pm PDT

How you can help with this test day:

First join us in #testday on irc.mozilla.org. The choose one or more of the following things to do:

Accessibility Testday

This testday will focus on testing Firefox's keyboard access as well as
usability with high-contrast themes, focus issues and, for those who
have the means, rendering of web pages through assistive technology
products.
Please use the latest-trunk build of Firefox for these tests, as there
have been many accessibility bug fixes recently committed.

For our purposes, please run as many rellevant test cases as possible in
the Firefox 3.0 BFT group.  These test cases must be run using the
keyboard only.  If a test fails, please use the word "a11y" in the
comment field.
Failures could include loss of focus, inability to use the keyboard to
accomplish a particular action, unclear grouping of objects, etc.  Areas
of particular interest are places, search, history, downloads and
prefferences.  If you are using a screen reader or magnifier and you
encounter inaccurate, confusing or missing information, please note that
in your test comment after the word "a11y".

We've done very little testing using high-contrast themes with Firefox
3.  Cross-platform testing of Firefox's adherence to the high-contrast
themes of each OS would be very helpful.  The same is true for themes
with extra-large fonts.

The UI for full page zoom is still being worked on, so it isn't fully
functional yet.  However, ctrl+= and ctrl+- should work properly to
increase and decrease the text size.

Under Options->Advanced->General, enable the "Always Use Cursor Keys to
Navigate Web Pages.  Check that you are able to move the caret around
the page in a logical manner.

If you're a screen-reader or magnifier user, we encourage you to take a
tour of the web to the sites you visit most often.  Go about your normal
business and note any discrepancies you find in Firefox 3's rendering of
the page to your AT product that limit your use of the page.

Your help is greatly appreciated.
