Hey Everyone!

It's time to test your favorite Add-ons and Plug-ins with Firefox 3!  Join us Friday, March 21st, 2008 in #testday on IRC from 7am - 5pm PDT.  Here is how you can help us:

  1. Find popular add-ons that are still incompatible with the latest Firefox 3 Beta.  We want to make sure they are on our list and that developers are working to update them before the official Firefox 3 launch.  Here is a list of current compatible add-ons... see which ones are looking good, and which ones are still not there yet.
  2. Verify that any compatible Add-ons work well for your daily browsing needs.
  3. Test popular sites that require various Plug-ins to make sure all the content and functionality is there.
  4. Provide us with your feedback and any testing updates by leaving a comment on this event post!  It's the easiest way to collect information about this Test Day, so don't be afraid to say hello and tell us how your day went.

We are on the road to Beta 5, so there is plenty to test!  If you want to test your current Add-ons and Plug-ins, great!  But if you really want to be adventurous, go grab a few new ones and try them out!

How to prepare for Test Day:

Getting started on Test Day:

First join us in #testday on irc.mozilla.org so you can chat with the Mozilla QA team and community.  There are always people in the channel to meet, work with, and get help from.

Then choose one or more of the following things to do:

  • Run various test cases on Litmus! Ask for help in the
#testday channel if you're not familiar with Litmus. If a testcase is
terribly unclear, mark it as such. When you have questions about using
Litmus, please ask the moderators in the testday channel or see the Litmus tutorial .
  • When you have time and interest in writing testcases, please ping Marcia and/or Tomcat in the #testday channel. We have also a short documentation how to write testcases for litmus.
