Mozilla BrowserID Test Day

October 14, 2011

Greetings Mozilla QA Community,

On Friday, October 14th, we will be hosting a test day to introduce you to BrowserID.

BrowserID is a new, single sign-on tool that developers can use to provide a secure way for users to prove their identity to servers on the internet. And, this can be done without having to create separate usernames and passwords each time. Instead of a new username for each site, BrowserID uses the email address as their identity, allowing the process to be decentralized since anyone can send the user an email verification message.

You can find more information here at the BrowserID Blog
with a nice video introduction called ‘BrowserID at Mozilla’s All Hands

If you have some time and want to help us test the new functionality and user interface in BrowserID, please join us on irc.mozillla.org in the #testday channel.

We will be testing from 1:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. PDT on Friday, October 14th.

If you want to get a head start, feel free to check out the Beta test environment that will be used  during our Test Day:
The client site: My Favorite Beer!
The server/sign-in site (start here!): Beta BrowserID

Test Plan: BrowserID Test Day Test Plan

We hope to see online!
