The MozQA community is holding a Testday on Friday, December 4th, for people interested in the use, development and/or testing of Weave! We're going to have the Weave development lead, Mike Connor, help users get set up, and chat about the project with the community via IRC Chat (channel #testday on irc://irc.mozilla.org). So, if you're interested, come on by anytime between 7AM to 5PM PST that Friday!

How do I get ready?

First off, note for this Testday, it will be a good idea to backup your profile or work with a new one.  See Managing Profiles on how to do either.

On the Testday, please refer to the Weave FAQ to get started.  Install the latest version of Weave on each client (desktop and/or mobile) you'll be testing with then join us in #testday on irc.mozilla.org.

We could really use help with testing of Weave on mobile.  If you're a Nokia device owner, please refer to Getting Set Up with Weave on Fennec on an Nokia N810.

To download Weave during the Testday, go here.

This is what we're doing...

Join the MozQA Community in testing Weave!
Here's some of the things we're planning on doing throughout the day:

  • Perform exploratory testing on the latest Weave build using either the latest Firefox and/or Fennec release.  Focus on the following:
  • Weave extension installation and initial account setup.
  • Particularly watch out for data loss in:
  1. bookmarks
  2. stored passwords
  3. history
  4. multiple tab lists
  5. preferences
  • Tell us what you think about your experience as well as log any bugs via Bugzilla (please read on How to Report Bugs for Weave). Make sure to add "[WeaveTestday]" to the whiteboard of the bug after you have created it!  Please refer to this bug list to ensure any bugs you see aren't already filed.
